Deric Kidd
President | Co-Founder | Public Speaker | Board Member
Deric Kidd is a dedicated entrepreneur, mentor, and advocate with over 25 years of experience in finance. Alongside his wife, Kathy, he has successfully owned and operated multiple businesses. His deep commitment to faith, family, and community has guided every aspect of his personal and professional life.
For a decade, Deric coached youth soccer, fostering discipline, teamwork, and resilience in young athletes. His passion for supporting young people took on a deeper meaning after the tragic loss of his 17-year-old son, Sebastian. Turning pain into purpose, Deric co-founded the Sebastian Kidd Foundation and Become Their Voice, a nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness about mental health and substance abuse—particularly among teenagers.
Deric is an engaging and impactful speaker, connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, including students, community members, and professionals across various fields. His ability to inspire and educate stems from both personal experience and a steadfast belief in the power of hope, healing, and action.

Kathy Kidd
Vice President | Co-Founder | Director of Public Relations | Board Member
Kathy Kidd is a dedicated entrepreneur, business owner, and advocate with over 25 years of experience in real estate. As the Broker/Owner of RE/MAX Results since 2016, she has built a thriving career while also co-owning multiple businesses alongside her husband, Deric.
After the heartbreaking loss of their 17-year-old son, Sebastian, Kathy transformed her grief into purpose by co-founding the Sebastian Kidd Foundation and Become Their Voice—a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and substance abuse. Her passion lies in creating positive change for young people and ensuring that families and communities have access to critical education, resources, and support.
Kathy thrives on networking, continuous learning, and exploring natural approaches to self-care—from supplements and exercise to therapy. She plays a vital role in developing impactful presentations with Deric, helping to foster meaningful conversations and engagement with diverse audiences.
Guided by her faith, Kathy’s mission is to bring hope, healing, and awareness to those who need it most.

Karla Lilly
Community Outreach Director
Karla is a passionate advocate for youth, education, and community well-being. A devoted mother of three, she has spent over 23 years in the field of social work, guiding and uplifting individuals from all walks of life. Her commitment to service was exemplified through her four years on the Wapello County Drug Treatment Court Team, where she played a key role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery.
Currently, Karla works with iJAG (Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates) at Waukee Public Schools, helping students develop career readiness skills and empowering them to reach their full potential. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom—she is also a Patient Partner and Mentor for CAN DO CANCER, a nonprofit supporting individuals navigating breast cancer, a journey Karla has courageously overcome herself.
Karla’s passion for health, fitness, and mentorship is evident in all areas of her life. She has completed four half-marathons, participated in an adult women’s basketball league, and even organized a neighborhood kids’ workout group during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep children active and engaged. She also practices Biodanza, a movement-based approach that promotes connection and emotional well-being. In addition, Karla volunteers with Grandview Little League, coaching both softball and baseball to inspire and encourage young athletes.
With a B.A. in Physical Education and Leisure Studies and a minor in Psychology from William Penn University, Karla blends her academic background with hands-on experience to create meaningful impact. Whether she’s mentoring students, supporting families facing cancer, or coaching kids on the field, Karla is deeply committed to empowering others and strengthening her community.

Samantha "Sam" Madole
Student Outreach Coordinator
Samantha “Sam” Madole is a senior at William Penn University, majoring in Biology. Passionate about aquatic ecosystems, she plans to pursue graduate studies with the goal of earning a master’s degree in Fisheries Biology. Sam is also an active member of Campus Ministry, finding fulfillment through community and service.
Having overcome her own traumatic experiences, Sam aspires to become a peer burn supporter once the required year has passed since her accident. She hopes to use her journey to support others in their path to healing.
An avid outdoors enthusiast, Sam enjoys fishing, kayaking, and hiking—embracing nature whenever possible. In her downtime, she finds joy in crocheting and getting lost in a good book.
