Signs of an overdose
- Tiny pupils
- Limp body
- Unable to speak
- Pale, gray, or bluish skin, lips, or nails
- Cold or clammy skin
- Breathing/Pulse is very slow and shallow, erratic, or has stopped
- Extremely sleepy or passing out
- Snoring, choking, or gurgling sounds
- Loss of consciousness
- Unresponsive to outside stimulus
- Vomiting

What to do in the event of an overdose
- Seconds count!! – in the event of overdose:
- Don’t run, call 911! Good Samaritan Laws may protect you if you witness a drug overdose.
- Give naloxone (sometimes called Narcan). If there is no reaction in 3 minutes, give a second naloxone dose.
- Do rescue breathing or chest compressions. Follow 911 dispatcher instructions.
- After naloxone is given, stay with the person for at least 3 hours or until help arrives.
