My dad had a little over a year off his mental health medications. He got a pill he thought was Oxycodone, and then passed away on his bathroom floor while getting ready for bed because it was actually Fentanyl. He struggled with opiate abuse for 40 years but had lots of years of built up sobriety at times. He was a certified drug and alcohol counselor, worked with juveniles struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, headed his local AA/NA meetings, and was a wonderful father, son, brother, grandpa and uncle. Every day I miss the things we missed out on, but just him even more. We were robbed of so many memories.
